About Us

G4G IS SYDNEY'S FIRST AND ONLY PURPOSE BUILT GYM FOR GOLFERS.

We are TPI certified (Level 1 & 2) specialising in Golf Fitness! Our head coach Mike Ripoll has over 25 years experience in strength & conditioning and golf fitness training.

We’re also the first gym to offer DAILY functional Golf Fitness group classes. We run 5 classes per day in groups of 16 with a duration of 55 minutes. Our classes are unique and unlike any other group training class with our coaches taking you through a series of exercises designed to build strength, increase speed, improve range of motion and enhance your overall balance & stability.

What really sets us apart is our custom built Trackman 4 Simulator Bay which is located right on our gym floor. No where else in Sydney can you train and then hit golf balls in one location. We use Trackman technology to track each player’s club head speed and distance from Day 1. Players who train with G4G will see an average increase of 5-10mph in their club head speed within 6 months (1mph = 3 yards which means you'll be hitting it 15-30 yards further)

G4G is more than just a gym. It’s a place for people who are passionate about their golf.

Why should I train at G4G?

Golfers are a unique breed. To get better, most players will normally get lessons or buy new equipment. When you want to improve your golf swing, you'll normally go see a PGA professional. When you want to buy new equipment you'll go see a golf fitting specialist. When you love your golf and want to take it to a whole new level, come to G4G. We are the missing piece, the final link that will help you hit it further and hit more Greens.

Ask any player what they’re currently working on and the answer is always the same - Increase Distance & Improve Ball Striking. Today, golf at both the professional and amateur levels is all about power and distance off the tee. The further you can hit it, the easier it will be to hit the green.

There are 4 contributing factors to increase a player's club head speed:

  1. Swing Mechanics
  2. Suitable Equipment
  3. Mobility
  4. Power

Power is the simple sum of how much force a player can generate and fast they can produce that force. Simply put, POWER = Strength + Speed.

At G4G we customise our workout programs not only on Strength & Speed but also a player's balance & mobility. Our goal is simple. To optimise your body so you can play more golf, minimise injuries & increase your physical capacity that will give you the potential to generate more club head speed, better ball striking and better golf scores.

Golf Fitness is the most underrated off course activity for all golfers today!

G4G Coaching Philosophy

Golf is a brutal and demanding sport on the human body. It involves a combination of sudden movements of exertion. Learning how your body moves when performing a golf swing and in particular the joints and muscles that enable you to swing a golf club is what we focus on. Our training methodology is based on Strength & Conditioning principles + Rotational Athlete training + Functional Golf Fitness training.

We base our training on the principles of Progressive Overload & Specificity whilst adhering to the principles of the Body-Swing connection philosophy developed by Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)

TPI is the world’s leading education organisation dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. Since their inception in 2003, they have studied thousands of golfers ranging from top professional Tour players to weekend enthusiasts. Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Additionally, TPI has analysed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect their golf swing and potentially lead to injury.

Progressive Overload is a method of strength training that promotes the gradual increase of the stress placed upon the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Gradually increasing the weight, frequency or number of repetitions will challenge your body resulting in muscle growth and strength gain.

Specificity relates to training that is relevant and appropriate to the sport for which the individual is training in order to produce the desired effect. In our case, we’re playing golf so everything we do at G4G is geared towards optimising your body for golf!
